Zoe is an alternative rock Mexican band. Formed in 1995 in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and made official in Mexico City in 1997, led by Leon Larregui (voice), and well made, Sergio Acosta (guitar), Jesus Baez (keyboards), Angel Mosqueda (bass), Rodrigo Guardiola (drums).Beginnings and debut album (1998-2002)
A lack of space to showcase their music, Zoé makes itself known in the underground scene for concerts organized themselves, the Internet and a self-produced demo. Thanks to these efforts and the good reviews that were gaining gradually gained popularity in Spanish-language radio stations in the United States. [Citation needed] They signed their first record in 1998, but nothing came of it, so that a Again, they decided to launch themselves. Independently released their first album self-titled. The album caught the attention of Sony Music who signed contract with them and distributed the album nationwide.
But they received his letter of retirement to seek what he did to the independent label "Noiselab" and this caught the attention of "EMI Music" and signing a contract that would lead to broader audience.
[Edit] Rocanlover (2003-2005)
In November 2003, Zoe released his second album, produced by Phil Vinall, who had previously worked with bands like Placebo, Elastica and Pulp. The producer had mixed songs from her first album. This new album is named after Rocanlover, same name given to fans of Zoe, so called from that point until the date for the band. By this time his musical style was clearly defined and easily recognized either by style or by a mixture of singing in English and Spanish, which in those times, and since its formation, it was widely applauded in Mexico. Zoe gave several of the songs on this record for the soundtrack of the movie Love hurts, Ladies Night and The Dreamer.
Zoe left Sony in early 2004, the band continued working and touring for a year without a label to support them and began to gain followers with the simple self-promoted as "Love" and "Poison."
In early 2005, the band began working with the songs on her next album. In mid 2005, the band recorded the song "Dead" with its own resources. For these times, Beto Cabrera (then drummer) left the band. Zoe Jorge Siddhartha who contract to leave the band to pursue his solo project, was replaced with Rodrigo Guardiola, who until today is the drummer for Zoe. Some major labels were very interested in signing the band, but Zoe, tired of his previous experiences with transnational labels, surprised everyone when he signed with Noiselab, an independent label in Mexico.
New songs to complete the EP called The Room, were produced.
Due to bad experiences in the music world, strong rumors of separation of the band were growing. They confessed that if the EP did not produce a favorable outcome, Zoe separate. However, the EP was a resounding success, receiving a gold record for its more than 50,000 units sold. Some songs were recorded in English, and producers such as Alan McGee expressed interest in bringing the band to the UK and the rest of Europe. The launch of the EP was followed by two sold-out shows at the Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City.
No EP in the history of Mexico has many sales and so successful. [Citation needed] Obviously, the band decided to work on a new album.

The first six months of 2006 were very active for Zoe, continued to give shows very strategic as the Vive Latino Festival and committed to the production of their third album. In January of that year the band went to Manzanillo to start pre-production of the album with British producer Phil Vinall. He arrived in February with more shows and more pre-production on Mexico City. In March, the songs recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo, Texas. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the band talking about many alternatives, from a massive free concert in the Zocalo of Mexico City to a presentation in a small place, whose entries were given away to those who prove to be the most devout fans of the band. It was decided that the concert would be graded on November 28, 2007 at the Palacio de los Deportes. The concert was attended by 17, 976 people, so it is known that only 24 people were missing to make a full house at the Palacio de los Deportes. The concert was attended by Chetes on the songs "Love" and "Let It connects" (single disc). This was the first live album Zoe. It was released in May 2008 with 281 107 and the DVD title (same title as the album) was released in April 2009.
